I found a few recipes for various juice drinks for when you have a cold or the flu. Everyone in my house is a little bit sick right now. Nothing too bad, just colds. I am pregnant, and I don't like to take medicine anyway. I don't know whether drinks like this actually help you feel better or not. The fruits/veggies do have vitamins and minerals, so it certainly won't hurt anything! This particular juice is my own adaption on several that I found. I have the Tru Juicer, and I love it. I got it on clearance at Wal-Mart for about $25.
Ingredients:
2-3 stalks of celery
1 green apple
1 piece of ginger (about 1")
handful of carrots
1/2 lemon
Juice all ingredients together. This will make about 4 shot sized servings. Sprinkle your "shot" with cayenne. The juice by itself doesn't taste too bad, but I couldn't get my son to take more than a zip of it (without cayenne.) You might want to grab something to wash it down with, the cayenne will really get you!
