As most of you know, my 3 year old has developmental delays. I have been fighting for over a year to have him tested for Autism. Well, I finally got his elementary school on board to do the testing. After 3 weeks of tests, questionnaires, and meetings I finally received the paperwork with his diagnosis. It's Autism. I can't say that I'm surprised, but I am a little shocked to physically see the words "diagnosis of: Autism" on a piece of paper with my son's name at the top. It's been a rough year, and I've finally gotten what I've been fighting for - a more definitive answer to why he is delayed, but I feel like it's not good enough. Like this is just the beginning to a long road. I'll be updating you all on his progress as time goes on, and hopefully connecting with other parents of children with special needs.
